Retirement is boring.  This website, its photography, and Lakeland history are a futile attempt at sanity.  

I’m lake resident Chip Averwater.  Jan and I live in East Shores in the one-story Mediterranean house with palm trees—or, as our sons say, “the Miami drug lord house.”

Jan and I are continually amazed by the beauty of this lake, its fabulous amenities, and the warmth and friendliness of its residents.  We feel we’ve found our place on Earth and plan to remain here forever.
