This website, its photography, and Lakeland history are my diversion and sanity in retirement. I am lake resident Chip Averwater. Jan and I live in East Shores in the one-story Mediterranean house with palm trees or, as our sons call it, the “Miami drug lord house.”
Jan and I are continually amazed by the beauty of this lake, the fabulous amenities it offers us, and the warmth and friendliness of lake residents. We feel we’ve found our place on Earth and would happily remain here forever.
If you love this lake too or would like to suggest additions or corrections to this site, I’d enjoy hearing from you. Please email me at chipav(at)aol.com.
BTW, writing is another diversion I use to stay out of trouble. Currently two books are available through Amazon and other bookstores: one on retailing and retail store management, “Retail Truths: The Unconventional Wisdom of Retailing” and another on people management, “Great Managers Are Always Nice.“
